Have you ever had a really gnarly case of the hiccups? Those super relentless ones that just don't want to quit? How annoying are those?! I had some the other night and it got me thinking...
The problems in life are like having the hiccups!
I know it sounds kind of silly but there are some real commonalities:
1- Just like the hiccups, in life you tend to repeat the same kinds of mistakes over and over again.
2- Sometimes right when you think you are in the clear BAM another one (some sort of issue) sneaks up on you.
3- You can sit around and hope it will resolve itself or you can take action.
4- The first thing you try may not work but if you stick with it you can almost figure out a way to resolve it.
So what have I learned about life after one bad case of the hiccups? I've learned that shit happens. I've never met a person who has never had the hiccups before which means to me that there are always going to be problems that happen in life. They get annoying, they get uncomfortable and difficult to get rid of but they go away, eventually. The best way to resolve the hiccups in a timely manner is to actively do something about it not just sit around and wait. So basically when an issue arises in life you could just hope it fixes it self or you can get right on it and do something about it! And lastly, don't give up. Not everything works for everyone on the first time so stick with the tough stuff and you will get through it and figure something out.
On a related side note- the one fail proof way I've always gotten rid of the hiccups is by eating a spoonful of peanut butter. Works every time!
