I am going to start off pretty darn easy with this months intention. There will be some more complicated and a little more in depth but that doesn't mean that this intention is less important! In fact, I'd say it's one of the most important things to have as a regular component in your life. What is it I'm talking about?
LAUGHTER!
Not only does laughter FEEL good but there are actually studies done on the health benefits of laughter. There is a local class here that is called 'Laughter yoga'. Most people can use more laughter in their lives so let's try to make it happen.
For the next week (or more!) let's focus on incorporating more laughter into our lives.
Ways to make it happen
*Spend extra time with friends that make you laugh.
*Watch some of your favorite funny movies.
*Play some laugh-inducing board games. (Some of my suggestions:Cranium, Pictionary, Charades)
*Force it. It'll feel silly and stupid making yourself laugh for no real reason but maybe THAT silly, stupid feeling will make you laugh for real!
*Go see a comedy show or funny play.
*Hang out with some kids! Nothing makes me laugh more than when I spend some time with some kiddies.
*Make a conscious effort to recognize what sort of things make you laugh on a day to day basis. Take note of these situations and try to recreate them if you can.
*If you find yourself struggling, try repeating your intention to yourself a few times. Here is an example: "This week, I am going to laugh more."
Pretty simple right? Let me know how it goes for you and how you feel throughout the process. At the end of this month I wonder if I will be able to feel a real difference in my mood. We'll have to wait and see!
